Peinado, Francisco

Francisco Peinado (Málaga, 1941) is a Spanish painter who holds the National Drawing Award, the National Award of Engraving and the Andalucia Award of Arts. In his work expresses feelings like loneliness, inner suffering and commitment to the world.

Peinado studied at the School of Fine Arts of Sao Paulo when he immigrated to Brazil with his parents, from 1952 to 1963. Back in Spain he lives in Malaga later on in Madrid.

His work is in many recognized art centers like the Reina Sofia Museum of Madrid, the Museum of Abstract Art in Cuenca or the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo.

Peinado worked at Grupo Quince, and some of his works at COON ART gallery were made there.

Grupo Quince was a studio and gallery, key within the scene graph contemporary Spanish that was born in the early 70's, responding to socio-cultural concerns of the moment as well as the emergence of artists experimenting with different printmaking techniques. For 14 years, “Grupo 15” provided a framework for the professional development of more than one hundred artists. Some of the artists who made their works in this studio were the artists of the movements "Dau al Set", "El Paso", Equipo Crónica, and many other internationally renowned that can be found at COON ART.
