Pablo Palazuelo (Madrid, 1915 - 2007) is an outstanding figure in Spanish art of the second half of the twentieth century.
He started architectural studies in Madrid University and later he continued his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts of Oxford. During the years 1946 and 1947, he was member of the group known as "Young Madrid School" that exhibited regularly at the Madrid Buchholz Gallery. In 1948, Palazuelo abandons figurative art and produced only abstract works and moved to Paris where he lived for 20 years. In Paris, he met Mr. & Mrs Maeght and joined the list of artists who exhibited at the Maeght Gallery. In 1963 he came back to Spain. Since 1978, the relationship of their workwith musichas become morevisibleand he decides to investigatethe possibilityof transcribingthe musicthrough ageometric code.
He has received, among others, Kandinsky Prize Painting, International Print Award Ljubljana, Gold Medal of Fine Arts and Velazquez Prize of Plastic Arts, and he also has exhibited in major cities such as Madrid, Seville, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Pittsburg, Barcelona, Zurich, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, Switzerland, Bilbao, New York, etc..
